Riches and Treasures for Every Believer
Hello Mosaic,
The first of every month in our town in NJ, we were allowed to place up to three extra large items with the garbage at the curb for pickup by sanitation engineers. I was amazed at how much trash they would take from the curb (especially for a $ tip). The classic saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure" was proven true every month. People would drive through neighborhoods and towns looking for that one treasure.
On Sunday, we will continue our study in Colossians 2:1-5.
I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
This letter to a group of believers, including some who did not know Paul, expounds on the full riches and treasures for every believer. These riches and treasures are found only in the person of Jesus Christ.
We will look at who God says we already are, as opposed to trying to change or become someone else. This "treasure of wisdom and understanding" found in this letter will radically change how you view God, yourself, and others. And the good news? We don't have to wait for the first of the month!
See you Sunday,
Karl Records
