The Mystery Resolved

Dear Mosaic Family,

You may have heard that I enjoy genealogy. My wife says I’m obsessed with dead people! Working on a family history is basically like working on a giant puzzle. While doing it, I’m constantly gaining bits of new information that help to make the larger story clearer. The mystery can be explored and hopefully uncovered until the final pieces come together.

You might say that God’s ultimate plan for what He wanted to accomplish remained a mystery for many generations to those who wanted to follow Him:

- Abraham walking in faith up Mount Moriah

- Moses bringing the Law down to the people of Israel

- King David composing inspired psalms that prophesy of Messiah

- Jesus’ Disciples wondering if He would overthrow their Roman oppressors

- Gentile believers grappling with their part in the larger story

Each was looking from a different vantage point. Each operating with the revelation made clear to them. Then, at just the right time, God allowed the pieces to fall into place, revealing the mystery of His plan.

In Colossians 1:24-29, Paul unveils the great mystery hidden from previous generations. The missing piece described in this chapter reveals God’s plan for building His eternal, multi-ethnic Kingdom of love.

Come with an open heart, prepared to embrace the mystery.
