Paul's Prayer for the Church
Hello Mosaic,
This Sunday we will continue learning together from Paul's letter to the believers in Colosse. Last week, John shared several key principles. First, Jesus is the way to peace with God. Jesus ended the strife, hostility, enmity, discord, and the estrangement between God and us. Second, this group of saints heard and believed the gospel of grace, as preached by Epaphras. This week we will continue that discussion on salvation and transformation in Paul's prayer for the church (Colossians 1:9-14).
Lloyd Oglivie, former Chaplain of the US Senate, wrote about this transformation: "The outward manifestation of this inner grace is joy. Joy flows from grace. When we know that we are loved and cherished by God, joy floods our emotions. It is far superior to happiness, which is dependent on circumstances and people. Joy is love growing in the soil of difficulties and suffering."
Oglivie described life changed by grace. It is marked with an abundance of joy! Paul's prayer for the church is as meaningful and important for us as it was to the Colossians. Join me Sunday as we grow in an awareness of the Father's transforming love.
See you virtually on Sunday,
