Walking From Freedom
Dear Mosaic Family,
In the early spring, it can be a challenge to plan out the day’s wardrobe. Will it rain? Could it even... snow?? How cold will the morning be? When will it warm up? What do we put on and what will we be taking off? Shorts or pants? Jacket or sweatshirt? If you come across Jennifer and I walking around the lovely quaint town of Appomattox, you will see one of us dressed for winter and the other dressed for summer.
Two weeks ago, we studied Colossians 3:1-4, as Paul encouraged them with some amazing truth about their relationship in Christ. “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).
This Sunday we will continue with Paul’s next exhortation to the church. Because of God’s transforming work, our life is hidden with Christ in God.
Therefore, we put off sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, anger, rage, malice, slander, filthy language and lies.
In contrast, we are to put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and above all, love.
What does it mean to put off and put on? Are there a few (or more) in those lists that you find hard to put off or put on? What is God showing you about Him and about you in that struggle?
Excited to learn and grow together this week.
See you Sunday,
Karl Records
