The Perfect Fit in His Kingdom

Hello MOSAIC!

The Davis clan is excited to fellowship with you again this Sunday at Mosaic as we continue, under the leadership of your Elders, to walk through 1 Peter. Remember, Peter wrote this letter to encourage the saints because they were beginning to face all sorts of rejection from those around them. The “religionists" were against them along with the “secularists”. They didn’t fit in either camp. They were a people without a home! Except God had made them to fit perfectly in His Home—in His Kingdom through new birth into His family.

This Sunday as we walk into chapter 2, Peter gets explicitly clear as to where we actually belong. We belong to God and with God because we have received His Mercy. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation! Do you believe that about yourself? Do you believe that you are God’s delight and the recipient of His full mercy and grace? You are, if you are in Him. The more we come to rest in His great love and affections towards us (remember, it’s not because of who you are that He loves you, but because of who He is), the more we see this world is not our home and we long for the day we see fully what He has birthed us into.

So as trouble comes in this world for following Jesus -- and it will -- remember that you are chosen, royal, and holy!

I hope to see your chosen, royal, and holy faces this Sunday at Mosaic!
