Homework Due on Sunday
Dear Mosaic Family,
A few weeks ago, I did an Intro to 1 Peter, and I gave you some homework at the conclusion. It was an open-Bible assignment including ten questions about persecution, suffering, and death. Well, it's time to "check your work," as many of us did back in school. During the service, I will ask volunteers to share how they answered the questions. You will "grade" your paper, so please don't get a stomachache and stay home or tell me that your labradoodle "ate your homework."
Man, have I enjoyed our study of 1 Peter! It has been helpful to equip us "aliens and strangers" for when things happen in this foreign land in which we live. Chapter 2 addresses a couple of common situations in the First Century that aren't entirely foreign to us. We will be studying verses 11-25, where Peter teaches children of light how to respond in a world of darkness. He also tells us what happened to make this response possible. Learning to live in this reality is a game-changer!
I love you guys SO much, and I'm delighted to share in His LIFE with you- even when the ride is crazy!
Your brother in Jesus,
John Stroud
