Forever Faithful
Dear Mosaic Family,
Many of us have experienced the pain and loss of abandonment when someone turns on us or gives up on us for reasons we don't fully understand. It hurts and often leaves us anticipating more rejection. We think, “I'm not safe; this could happen again!” There is some truth to this fear-induced way of thinking because people will let us down. Relationships will change or end, BUT there is One who never leaves, never forsakes (Hebrews 13:5). He upholds those who are His with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10). Jesus promises that those who are His can never be snatched away from His Father's hand (John 10:28-29).
What this means is that you are secure, even if you experience another abandonment. The One who keeps you secure is your Savior! I know we all desire to have “secure human relationships.” I want that for all of us, but isn't it wonderful to know that even though people let us down, cut us loose, and tell us to go away, we still have a loving Father who keeps us for eternity. We are His. We belong. We are seen. And we are never forsaken!
This faithful God is the focus of our study this weekend in Romans 11. Bring a Bible and be prepared to get in groups to process this portion of Scripture together with your spiritual siblings. I'm looking forward to guiding this discussion. Please read the chapter a couple of times and look for those things that highlight the faithfulness of God to Israel, Elijah, and the Gentiles.
Take a moment and breathe a prayer of gratitude for the security that is yours in Him!
Love ya'll,
John
