The God Who Both Fills and Flips

Dear Mosaic Family,

John 2 gives us two powerful stories of who Jesus is—a God who transforms what is empty and purifies what is corrupt. At the wedding in Cana, Jesus quietly turns water into wine, meeting a hidden need and revealing that God's abundance meets us in the ordinary moments of life. With wine, He fills that which is empty. But just a few verses later, that same Jesus steps into the temple with bold authority, driving out everything that defiled what was meant to be holy. With a whip, He drives out corruption.

In both stories, we see that Jesus is not content to leave things as they are. He enters the empty places to fill them—and the cluttered places to cleanse them. He longs to transform what is lacking in our lives and empower us to drive out corruption in our thoughts.

The question is—will we let Him? Will we trust Him to fill what feels empty, even if He asks us to wait? Will we surrender to His cleansing work, even when it means overturning some tables in our hearts?

Jesus is the God who both fills and flips—the gentle Savior and the righteous King—inviting us into new life.

See you Sunday,

Kjell
