Celebrating Acts of Service

May 7, 2023    Ron Miller

Dear Mosaic family,

If love is the Greatest Commandment, then service is the greatest expression of love.

This Sunday, we will install four deacons and an elder to serve Mosaic Church. This is a time of celebration, for these men and women are the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus to our body of believers. We will also be recognizing our graduates, whether they are finishing their studies at a high school, community college, a vocational/technical school, or a four-year college or university. They, too, are preparing to go out into the world and serve, for the Scriptures command us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23-24). In addition to honoring these men and women as they prepare to serve, we will be taking Communion to commemorate Jesus’ greatest act of service to His Father and us, teaching what the Bible says about service, and breaking bread together as we serve a potluck lunch afterwards.

Come out and celebrate with us as we dedicate the day to our Savior who “did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).

Yours in service to Christ,

Ron Miller
