Decently and In Order

Jun 11, 2023    Jeff Nitz, Ron Miller, Brian Stroud

Dear Mosaic,

In October last year, the elders came to the congregation after an off-site retreat with a vision and a plan for how Mosaic Church would survive and thrive here in Lynchburg, Virginia. Of course, it’s always prudent to pause periodically and determine our progress, identify our missteps, and make course corrections if necessary. Please join us this Sunday as we hold a family meeting in-service to see where we’ve been, where we are, and where we still need to go.

The apostle Paul, speaking of how worship should be conducted, implored the believers in Corinth to “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40). Taking the meanings of the Greek words for ’decently’ (euschemonos) and ’order’ (taksis) into account, the verse could be translated into, “Let everything be done fittingly and properly in a way that is organized, well-planned, respectful, well-mannered, and polite.” That is our desire for our family meeting and our stewardship of the congregation. We plan to be transparent in our revelations to you, so please come to listen, ask questions, and get answers.

We look forward to being with you this Sunday!

Your elders,

Ron, John, Jeff & Brian
