New Covenant vs. Old Covenant
Hello Mosaic,
Now that we are born again, what exactly are we supposed to do? There’s a lot we could do in the name of Christianity, there’s a lot that we see being done by others and other groups and other fellowships in the name of Christianity, but what is it exactly that God has “qualified” us to actually do as Christians?
The answer is both challenging and liberating at the same time, but don’t take my word for it. Read it for yourself: “Not that of ourselves we are qualified to take credit for anything as coming from us; rather, our qualification comes from God, who has indeed qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of letter but of spirit; for the letter brings death, but the Spirit gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:5-6
So right there, we see we are both qualified as ministers of one thing and are not qualified as ministers of a second thing. We are qualified to serve others (minister) the New Covenant, but we are not qualified to serve others the Old Covenant.
Did you know that? I didn’t for the longest time. But what is the New Covenant? What is the Old Covenant? How are they different?
Let’s dive into this together this Sunday at Mosaic to discover further what we are actually qualified to serve up to others!
